The Penn State football team picked up a strong road victory last Saturday afternoon. They did not move up the AP Top 25 Poll, instead, they stayed as the No. 7 team in the country. But, that doesn’t mean each of the AP Poll voters has the same thought process. Some believed the Nittany Lions should be higher, and others lower than No. 7. Last week, we saw a voter who believed Penn State was outside of the top 10 teams in the country. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but these voters believe that the Nittany Lions deserve more respect, ranking Penn State as a top 4 team in the nation.

Multiple AP Poll voters ranked Penn State football as a top 4 team

In the latest edition of the AP Top 25 Poll, we saw voters from all over the country show their belief in Penn State. The day after the AP Poll is released, the vote is made public and we got to see how voters across the nation feel about the Nittany Lions. After week 3 of the 2023 season, a few of these voters have much stronger faith in this team. Possibly due to the fact that the Nittany Lions caused 5 turnovers in their latest win.

Emily Leiker of Syracuse.com ranked Penn State as the No. 3 team in the country this week, only trailing Georgia and Michigan. I’m not sure if I totally agree with that assessment, however, it shows that Penn State is a team that the AP voters have faith in.

Six other AP Poll voters had Penn State ranked as the No. 4 team in the country. Sean Reider, who represents New Mexico, Brian Fonsea, with a Ritger’s affiliation, Greg Madia, with a Virginia affiliation, Kirk Kenney representing San Deigo State, and Jordan Crammer, who is affiliated with North Carolina.

The Penn State football team is starting to prove themselves and make many AP voters believers in this team.

AP doubters

The same voter from last week Jon Wilner, who had Penn State listed outside the top 10 has done so once again. This week he listed Penn State as the No. 12 team in the country. I’m not sure what his beef with Penn State is. Maybe it’s because of the 2022 Rose Bowl win over Utah? Either way, it will take a massive win to convince this voter.
