Former Penn State football linebacker Micah Parsons had an amazing career in Happy Valley. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Parsons missed his junior year as he sat out to train for the NFL Draft. Because of this, he was not able to fulfill a leadership role on the team. But that hasn’t stopped him from returning to Penn State and sharing his wisdom. James Franklin shared this story during his media availability tonight.

A lot of current Penn State players look up to former Nittany Lion Micah Parsons. Rightfully so, he’s become a star in the making in the NFL. But last Friday night ahead of the West Virginia game, Parsons shared his own message with the current Penn State football team.

James Franklin told the media tonight, “Micah [Parsons] actually spoke to the team Friday night. He didn’t get to do his share that most of the veterans get to do before they leave because his third year, the season got canceled as most of you guys know. So, he did his share Friday night before the game. Which was really cool to hear our players hear his perspective, not just now, but looking back at his career. And what he appreciates now and what he sees now that maybe he didn’t see at the time.”

For the current Nittany Lions to hear from one of the most dominant superstars in the NFL is very encouraging. It shows how although these players move on with their careers at the next level, they are still able to give back to the Penn State football team.

Micah Parsons and the Dallas Cowboys kick their season off Sunday night as they take on the New York Giants.
