After completing his official visit this past weekend cornerback Daryus Dixson has made his pledge to the Penn State football team. Unfortunately for the Nittany Lions, that news came on the same day that legacy target Michael Carroll made his commitment to Alabama, as the 2025 recruiting class continues to unfold in real-time for Penn State.

Daryus Dixson is a four-star cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class. From Santa Ana, CA, Dixson attends one of the country’s top high schools in Mater Dei. Ranked as a four-star CB, he is considered a top-15 prospect at his position, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. On Monday, he made his pledge official by committing to the Penn State football team following an official visit this past weekend.

According to 247Sports analyst Blair Angulo, Dixson recently explained why he chose Penn State.

“What excites me about their plan is how versatile I’m going to be on a big stage.”

Nittany Lions miss on a legacy target

Michael Carroll is one of the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. His father, Michael Carroll Sr. played for Penn State in the late 1990s, but his son has chosen to walk on his path with his college football career. On Monday, the Penn State legacy target chose to commit to Alabama. This comes with little surprise after Steve Wiltfong of On3 released a prediction on Sunday night for Carroll to land in Tuscaloosa.

Carroll is the No. 27 overall prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to On3. He is ranked as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the country and the second-best recruit in Pennsylvania.
