Eight months after he left the Penn State football program, former Nittany Lions and Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back King Mack is back in the transfer portal.
Mack’s decision to re-enter the portal was first reported on Friday evening by On3. He appeared in all 13 games for Alabama this fall, making 14 tackles.
Mack appeared in every game as a true freshman for Penn State football last season, primarily on special teams. After finishing his first year in Happy Valley with three tackles and a quarterback hurry and subsequently going through spring practice, Mack entered the transfer portal on May 2.
Out of high school, Mack was the No. 6 safety in the 2023 cycle, according to 247Sports. The On3 Transfer Portal Industry Rankings currently rate him as the No. 82 overall player available.
