For the second time in his college career, Keyvone Lee has entered the transfer portal. The former Penn State football running back will leave Mississippi State as a graduate transfer with one season of eligibility remaining.

Lee’s decision was first reported Sunday morning by On3’s Pete Nakos. However, Lee announced his intentions via social media on December 9. The one-time Nittany Lion spent the two seasons in Starkville, transferring to Mississippi State under then-head coach Zach Arnett in the spring of 2023.

Keyvone Lee appeared in 12 games for the Bulldogs over the last two seasons, rushing for 215 yards and one touchdown on 41 carries. He appeared in four games, making two starts, this fall before exiting with an injury against Florida on September 21. Lee was listed as out on the SEC’s availability report for the remainder of the year.

A former four-star prospect, Lee committed to James Franklin and Penn State football in the summer of 2019. Lee led the Nittany Lions with 438 rushing yards during the 2020 season and finished his Penn State football career with 1,062 yards and six scores on 222 carries.

The transfer portal officially closed on Saturday, but players on programs participating in the College Football Playoff or bowl games after December 28 will have an additional five-day window in January.
