It was clear that the Penn State football team was missing a key player last weekend. That was wide receiver No. 2 on the depth chart Harrison Wallace III. Early this season QB Drew Allar has relied on Wallace to be a reliable target. However, he missed the Illinois game last Saturday due to injury. But will he be back for the whiteout this weekend? James Franklin explained after practice last night.
Injury Update: James Franklin alludes that this Penn State star will play Saturday
Missing one of your key weapons on offense is never easy. Especially a target that a young quarterback has a great relationship with. Harrison Wallace III is someone who has been very consistent over the first few weeks of the season. Without his presence on Saturday, it felt as if the offense was out of sync. But it sounds like he will be good to go Saturday night based on James Franklin’s comments.
Franklin said, “I don’t think it was that he [Harrison Wallace III] wasn’t cleared to play. He wasn’t cleared in a way that we felt like he was going to be productive. To be honest with you, Omari [Evans] has had some bumps and bruises that’s kind of why he’s been limited. He could have played but was not practicing and playing the way that we think he’s capable of, so having those guys back. I think there’s a difference between being cleared and you can go out and do it. But you’re not at your best right now so if we have a way to wait a week to hopefully get them there, then that’s what we’d like to do.”
If Wallace returns, this offense for the Penn State football team should be able to build off the electricity in Beaver Stadium to hopefully pick up their 4th victory of the season.
