With the 2024 recruiting class signed for the Penn State football team and many of those players starting to get to campus, James Franklin turns his attention to 2025. The Nittany Lions are looking to build on their top-10 2025 recruiting class. But five-star Dijon Lee who is one of the top prospects in the 2025 recruiting class has shown his mutual interest in the possibility of becoming a Nittany Lion.

Dijon Lee is a five-star cornerback prospect in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247sports. He is currently ranked as the No. 1 player in California and the 23rd-best player in the 2025 cycle. The Penn State football team needs elite cornerbacks to bring in and it could start with Lee. He recently released his final 8 schools which included Arizona, Florida, LSU, Oregon, Georgia, Washington, USC, and Penn State. A native of Carson, CA can Terry Smith and James Franklin bring Lee across the country to play college football in State College?

Developing cornerbacks not an issue at PSU

There have been a few black marks on the Penn State resume in terms of developing talent as of late. Some fans and experts suggest that the Nittany Lions have not developed quarterbacks and wide receivers well in recent years. Those same people forget how much NFL talent Penn State has produced at those positions throughout history.

However, one position that you cannot argue with from a development standpoint is cornerback. Even thinking of the more recent success, the Nittany Lions produced Joey Porter Jr. who looks to be one of the best rookie cornerbacks in the NFL. Then, in the 2024 NFL Draft Penn State is hopeful three more Nittany Lions hear their name called Kalen King, Johnny Dixon, and Daequan Hardy who all started during the 2023 season. Cornerback is a position that Terry Smith has coached well and should keep Penn State in the mix for five-star Dijon Lee.
