The Penn State football team was able to take care of business in Morgantown, West Virginia on Saturday. Although the game was delayed for a few hours due to severe weather the Nittany Lions stayed committed to finishing the job. Drew Allar played well and his favorite target on the day was Harrison ‘Trey’ Wallace, who credited James Franklin for his success after the game.

When the final whistle blew on Saturday, the Penn State football team closed out West Virginia with a 34-12 victory. Drew Allar and the new-look Nittany Lion offense led by Andy Kotelnicki provided the spark that Penn State lacked last season. It’s still early, but it appears that the Nittany Lions have a wide receiver No. 1 in Harrison Wallace.

Wallace ended the day with 5 catches for 117 yards and 2 touchdown catches. Following the game he gave credit to James Franklin for some of his success.

“Him being so positive, effected me in a positive way,” Wallace said. “It just gave me more confidence to go out there and compete at a high level.”

This was a breakout game for Harrison Wallace against West Virginia. He is a Penn State football player who has dealt with adversity and battled injuries, but his dedication to perfecting his craft paid off on Saturday. He spoke about his emotions following the win.

“I’m feeling great,” Wallace stated. “I can’t even express how I am really feeling. But just know I’m fuming on the inside.”

The offense looked more creative and much more explosive which is what the Nittany Lions lacked in 2023. If they can continue to build on the progress made during game one, Penn State will have a legitimate shot at making the College Football Playoff.
