Our Sunday was rattled with breaking news around 2 PM Eastern time. When the Penn State football team and James Franklin decided to relieve offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich of his duties effective immediately. This news came less than 24 hours after the Nittany Lions offense was exposed by Michigan at home. In the two biggest games of 2023, the offense came up short. Now, that Yurcich is gone Ja’Juan Seider and Ty Howle will take over the play-calling duties. But following this season, the Nittany Lions will need to make a splash higher. Two former Penn State football players Adam Breneman and DeaSean Hamilton put their short list of names together for potential replacements.
Former Penn State players provide short list of OC candidates
James Franklin went off script today by deciding at the end of the season to fire his offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich. This makes me believe that Franklin already has his eye on a potential replacement and wants to make them an offer ASAP. If he waits, other schools might secure them before Penn State.
Former Penn State tight end Adam Breneman shared his opinion putting together the following list of names he thinks the Nittany Lions will target.
It seems like great minds think alike as former Penn State wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton brought up the idea of bringing in Joe Brady yesterday during the Michigan game.
Joe Brady was a graduate assistant at Penn State between 2015 and 2016 where he helped lead the Nittany Lions to a Big Ten Championship. Also, Joe Moorhead was the offensive coordinator for Penn State between 2016-2017. Could James Franklin turn back the clocks to solve the offensive woes?
