Penn State football looks to add the finishing pieces to its roster ahead of Spring Ball 2024. Most recently the Nittany Lions have signed big names in the transfer portal, including WR Julian Fleming, OT Nolan Rucci, CB AJ Harris, and CB Jalen Kimber. But it’s not just about those players on scholarship that make up the Penn State roster year in and year out. But there are two other players that the Nittany Lions offered via preferred walk-in Liam Horan and Logan Cunningham. Both players played their high school football and call Pennsylvania their home state.
Penn State football earns multiple commitments from in state talent
The Penn State football offensive line will look very different in 2024. Olu Fashanu and Caedan Wallace have both declared for the 2024 NFL Draft. The Nittany Lions will likely have to replace center Hunter Hourzad as well leaving JB Nelson, Drew Shelton, Vega Ioane, and Sal Wormley as the “familiar” faces on the roster. James Franklin decided to add some more beef on the offensive line as Liam Horan has committed to the Nittany Lions. From Malvern, PA Horan had offers from the Air Force and Brown but decided to walk on at Penn State.
Adding more talent at wide receiver
Another preferred walk-on was announced by Penn State earlier this week. This was wide receiver Logan Cunningham who is from Belle Vernon, PA. That school should sound familiar to Penn State fans as he was a high school teammate with the No. 1 player in PA and 2024 signee, Quinton Martin.
The Nittany Lions have a lot of new talent on their roster and it will be interesting to see if any of these players can make an instant impact on the field in 2024.
