Penn State defensive back to enter the transfer portal, per reports

Penn State football appears to be on the verge of losing the first member of its roster to the transfer portal since the Nittany Lions’ season came to an end last Thursday. According to new reports, junior cornerback Cam Miller is set to enter the portal this week. 

The news was first reported by Ryan Snyder of Blue White Illustrated on Sunday afternoon. Miller has not made an announcement as of Monday morning, but he is no longer listed on the Penn State football roster.

Miller started four games for the Nittany Lions this season but hadn’t been part of the starting lineup since October 26 at Wisconsin. He appeared in all 16 games this fall, recording 27 tackles and five pass breakups. Miller finishes his Penn State football career with 56 tackles, including eight for loss, over 40 games played.

A four-star, Miller was the No. 33 cornerback in the 2022 recruiting class, per 247Sports.

After a wave of transfer portal commitments in the days since the Orange Bowl, Cam Miller will be the sixth member of the Nittany Lions roster to announce their departure this winter.

To date, only two former Nittany Lions – Jerry Cross and Beau Pribula – have announced landing spots out of the portal.

• Enai White, DE – Entered portal from Texas A&M on December 11. Committed on December 20.
• Devonte Ross, WR – Entered portal from Troy on December 16. Committed on December 24.
• TJ Shanahan, OL – Entered portal from Texas A&M on December 9. Committed on January 10.
• Owen Wafle, DL – Entered portal from Michigan on January 2. Committed on January 11.
• King Mack, S – Entered portal from Alabama on January 3. Committed on January 12.
