On Monday, a 2024 uncommitted prospect received a crystal ball to the Penn State football team. This is Liam Andrews, who is a four-star prospect in the 2024 recruiting class that plays his high school football at Dexter School in Brookline, MA. He could be an elite offensive lineman for Penn State.
Andrews visited Penn State back on June 2nd and clearly that trip to State College went well. The crystal ball was placed by Brian Dohn of 247sports with a confidence level of six. The Penn State football team currently has the sixth best 2024 recruiting class in the country, but Andrews could potentially take this class over the top.
Elite 2024 offensive lineman Liam Andrews is a versatile athlete
What makes Andrews an interesting prospect is the versatility that he brings to the table. That versatility comes in two forms, first he plays both sides of the ball at the high school level, and he also is a multi-sport athlete. With Andrews understanding how a defensive lineman approaches the game, he brings a mental advantage to the table. What’s clear about his play style is that he is not afraid of contact, in fact he initiates the contact on most plays. That is certainly a trait you love to see in a prospect, regardless of which side of the ball he ultimately plays at the next level.
The 2024 Penn State football current offensive line commits
If Penn State adds this elite 2024 offensive lineman, then Andrews would be joining an already stacked offensive line class. Highlighted by class leader IOL Cooper Cousins, OT Donovan Harbour, OT Garrett Sexton, OT Eagan Boyer, and IOL Caleb Brewer. There’s a healthy mix of guards and tackles in this class but you can never have too many offensive lineman. It would give the players that need more development time to practice and slowly gain experience while the players that can contribute right away can hit the ground running. Offensive line coach Phil Trautwein has been on a recruiting tear with the 2024 recruiting class, but if he can seal the deal with Andrews it would be the icing on the cake.
