The importance of visiting a campus and coaches during the recruiting process is undeniable. The Penn State football team typically makes a great impression showing off the facilities, Beaver Stadium, and the Nittany Lion experience. This opportunity of taking a visit to Happy Valley has once again paid major dividends. Now, running back Alvin Henderson of the 2025 recruiting class has made his decision to commit and play his college football at Penn State following a recent visit.
Top 10 RB in 2025 recruiting class commits to Penn State football
It’s a long way from home for the Elba (Ala.) native. But on Thursday, Alivn Henderson made his decision to continue his education and football career with the Nittany Lions. Henderson is a four-star recruit in the 2025 recruiting class according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He ranks as the No. 7 RB in the cycle and the 110th overall prospect nationally. Now, he will be running the ball for Ja’Juan Seider and the Penn State football team.
Henderson chose Penn State over Auburn, Florida State, Miami, and Oregon. The momentum shifted back towards the Nittany Lions after Henderson took a trip to Happy Valley this past weekend. He shared great feedback with Steve Wiltfong of On3 after his visit. It’s important to note that his official visit to Penn State was planned for May 31st, but the Nittany Lions were able to work in an unofficial before then, which seems to have sealed his pledge.
Three running backs in 2025
With the addition of Henderson, the Penn State football team has three running back commits in the 2025 cycle. Alvin Henderson, Tiqwai Hayes, and Kiandrea Barker all play the same position and all have committed to the Nittany Lions.
Hayes recently was awarded Mr. Football PA and is a three-star prospect from Aliquippa (PA.). He made his commitment on September 25, 2023. Whereas Barker is also a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, his commitment was on April 16th, 2023. He will play his senior year at Miami Central with Penn State QB commit Bekkem Kritza.
The Nittany Lions are loaded at the position in the 2025 cycle. Depth is always important at the running back position in college football and it’s something that Penn State will have for next season and beyond.
