Penn State football head coach James Franklin and his coaching staff have a busy week ahead. Today, the Big Ten Media Days kicked off and are officially underway in Indianapolis, IN and this weekend the Nittany Lions will host their annual Lasch Bash barbeque. Currently, there are rumored to be roughly 50 prospects in attendance this week. Some players are already committed to Penn State and others are just on campus for an unofficial visit. Either way, it’s an important event for the PSU coaching staff to maintain and build relationships with players. One player I want to focus on today that will be on campus this weekend is an uncommitted member of the 2025 recruiting class QB Bekkem Kritza.

Penn State is expecting several committed prospects on campus in the 2024 recruiting class this weekend for the Lasch Bash, including 2024 QB commit Ethan Grunkemeyer. But, it’s never too early for Mike Yurcich and James Franklin to look toward the future and assess what prospects they are targeting at QB in the 2025 recruiting class.

2025 four-star QB recruit Bekkem Kritza announced on his social media that he will be on Penn State’s campus this weekend for the Lasch Bash.

According to his recruiting profile, took an unofficial visit back in March of this year and that same weekend when Penn State offered Kritza a scholarship. He stands at 6’5 182lbs and attends Miami Central High School which is the same high school that current Penn State football 2024 commit T.A. Cunningham will attend for his senior season.

The 2025 Recruiting Class is off to a strong start

The Nittany Lions currently have three commits in the 2025 recruiting class. But all three players are extremely talented, starting with class leader four-star OT Jaelyne Matthews who committed to Penn State this past January. He is joined by stud four-star running back prospect Kiandre Barker and three-star safety Omari Gaines.

Each player has made an early commitment which means the Penn State coaching staff will need to keep in close contact with these players as their offer lists continue to grow. But it would be huge if the staff can add an additional star at QB with Bekkem Kritza.
