The Penn State football team has two stars who have caught the eye of AP All-American voters. Tight end Tyler Warren and Jaylen Reed have been named Midseason All-Americans after both Nittany Lions have been a force through the first six games.

On Friday, the Penn State football team’s Twitter/X account shared that Tyler Warren was named a first-team Midseason All-American. The AP voters named Warren’s teammate Jaylen Reed to the second team.

Warren is coming off a historic performance against USC where he accounted for 17 catches for 224 yards and one touchdown catch. That performance elevated the Penn State tight end into the Heisman trophy conversation. While the Nittany Lions have produced several tight ends in the NFL today, Warren is on pace to be the next star from Happy Valley.

This season he has racked up 40 receptions for 513 yards and four touchdowns on the gridiron.

Against West Virginia in week one of the 2024 season, James Franklin told Penn State football safety Jaylen Reed that he was ‘I mean you looked like you were running at a different speed than everybody else.’

Now, he leads the Nittany Lions in tackles with 39. He also has 1.5 sacks and secured an interception against USC as well. Reed was forced to step into a larger role this fall when fellow safety KJ Winston went down in week two against Bowling Green.

But in his absence, Reed has proved he is capable of the spotlight. His performance through six games has earned him Midseason AP All-American honors.
