Penn State wrestling will be looking to win a fourth consecutive national championship and the program’s 12th title in 14 seasons when the NCAA Championships kick off in Philadelphia on Thursday. Hosted at the Wells Fargo Center in nearby Philadelphia, the Nittany Lions should expect a friendly crowd on hand for potentially another record-breaking weekend.

Now, it appears that the President of the United States could be on hand to watch the Nittany Lions compete for a title. On Tuesday, Outkick’s Clay Travis tweeted about traveling to the event with President Donald Trump on Air Force One.

“Awesome news: I’ll be traveling with [Donald Trump] on Air Force One to the NCAA Wrestling Championships in Philadelphia this weekend,” Travis wrote. “Shout out [White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt] for Outkick’s invite as a part of the White House’s new media initiative. Can’t Wait. I’m sure the other media will love me!”

As of Tuesday afternoon, there are no official statements from the Trump Administration or the NCAA to confirm whether Trump will officially be in attendance this weekend. However, the 47th president has attended the event before, appearing at the 2023 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Last fall, then-candidate Trump was reportedly planning to visit Beaver Stadium for Penn State football’s clash with Ohio State. However, the trip ultimately never came to fruition.

Penn State wrestling is once again a heavy favorite to win the national title, with a projected team total 76 points ahead of second-place Iowa and a lineup with four No. 1 seeds and nine wrestlers ranked inside the top four of their respective weight classes.

The Nittany Lions can topple several milestones this weekend, including their own points record from a season ago. Additionally, Cael Sanderson is looking to lead only the second team in NCAA history with All-Americans at every weight class.

The 2025 NCAA Wrestling Championships will begin on Thursday, March 20 at 12:00 p.m. The NCAA Finals will cap the event on Saturday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m. ET. The entire tournament can be viewed live on the ESPN family of networks and streamed on ESPN+.
