Two weeks ago, Penn State wrestling dominated at the US Senior World Team Trials. This weekend, it was the younger members of the Nittany Lions squad who took center stage at the U20 World Team Trials and U23 Nationals in Geneva, Ohio.

In the younger bracket, five current or future Penn State wrestlers will represent the United States at the U20 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, this August. The Nittany Lions went a combined 10-0 in Saturday’s best-of-three finals to earn their spots on the U20 National Team.

Redshirt freshmen Connor and Cole Mirasola took home titles at 92 kg and 125 kg, respectively, with victories over Dillon Bechtold (92) and Dreshaun Ross (125). Fellow redshirt freshman Joe Sealy finished third at 74 kg after falling to Penn State wrestling 2026 commit Jayden James. The future Nittany Lion fell in the finals to finish second.

In the class of 2025, top recruit Marcus Blaze will represent Team USA at 61 kg following his win over Kyler Larkin. Junior Dan Hodge Trophy recipient PJ Duke, who will also compete for a spot on the Senior National Team at Final X in June, claimed the 70 kg title over Landon Robideau. At 79 kg, William Henckel took down Brock Mantanona with a pair of tech falls.

Elsewhere, incoming Ohio State transfer Rocco Welsh (86 kg) and sophomore Connor Pierce (70 kg) remain alive for U23 titles. Each will wrestle in the quarterfinals beginning on Sunday morning.
