Penn State wrestling continues to make inroads with one of the most coveted prospects in the 2026 recruiting cycle. The football team’s matchup with Ohio State was a major recruiting draw for programs across campus. Cael Sanderson and the Nittany Lions took advantage by hosting high school superstar Bo Bassett.
Bassett posted about the visit on his social media pages Friday morning. The Bishop McCort standout has previously discussed training with the NLWC.
Bo Bassett is FloWrestling’s No. 2 wrestler in the 2026 cycle behind Bishop McCort teammate Jax Forrest, who is also being recruited by Sanderson and the Nittany Lions. MatScouts ranks Bassett as its top wrestler in 2026.
Pound-for-pound, the 144-pounder comes in No. 4 in the country according to FloWrestling’s most recent high school rankings for the 2024-25 season.
Bassett isn’t expected to make a college choice soon, recently noting that his recruitment will continue into the spring. He recently visited Iowa at the end of October and has been heavily pursued by Ohio State and Oklahoma State, among other top programs.
