On Tuesday morning, Penn State fans got that special tweet followed by a “#WeAre… Better” from James Franklin’s Twitter account. The newest Nittany Lion prospect is a four-star linebacker from Michigan, and a massive addition to the newest Penn State recruiting.

Penn State recruiting: meet the newest Nittany Lions

Penn State’s newest acquisition on the recruiting trail is a massive pick up for James Franklin and his staff. The Nittany Lions landed Kari Jackson, a 6-2, 215-pund linebacker from West Bloomfield High School in West Bloomfield, MI.

Jackson is a composite four-star linebacker prospect — he is ranked as the No. 395 player in his class, the No. 30 linebacker, and No. 9 player in the state of Michigan.

What Jackson said about Penn State football

“I liked everything,” Jackson told 247 Sports. “Everything was top-notch. All the new renovations they’ve made make everything better at Penn State. All of the staff there is great. My family and I were able to talk to the head coach and defensive coordinator. I was able to sit down with them and with my family, talk, have conversations and keep deepening our relationship.”

Kari Jackson is a massive addition to the newest Penn State recruiting class, and could be the next great Nittany Lion to wear the black shoes and basic blues. The Penn State Nittany Lions now have three hard commits in the 2024 cycle — all three are four-star prospects.
