Drew Allar has played clean football through two games in 2024. The Penn State football quarterback has a lone blemish on his resume this season which was an odd interception against Bowling Green. The Nittany Lion QB explained his thought process on the late-game interception against the Falcons, which appeared to be a miscommunication or misjudged throw.

Another game where Drew Allar showed his poise as the Penn State football signal caller. But on a drive that looked so promising at the end of the 3rd quarter against Bowling Green, Allar lobbed a fade route to Trey Wallace which was intercepted by Jacorey Benjamin. Allar explained what he saw on that play after the game.

“Obviously, that interception, honestly it was a really good play by the DB,” Allar stated. “I thought it was going to be cover zero, it looked like cover zero. I’m like alright, I’m going to give Trey a shot. The corner that was to the field outside of Trey did a really good job of just reacting to the throw in the air. So, obviously I’d like to have that back and recognize that quicker.”

Allar assessed the rest of his play

The Nittany Lion gunslinger played another productive game. Drew Allar accounted for three touchdowns, two through the air and one on the ground. He led Penn State to a 34-27 win and finished the day accounting for 13 completions for 204 yards and added 7 rushing yards as well. After the game, he gave his thoughts on his performance overall.

“I thought I played pretty clean overall,” Allar said. “There’s always going to be things to clean up but I think as quarterback room we did a really good job of preparing for this week. Bowling Green threw a lot of stuff at us but I thought we were really well prepared and we did a lot of good things throughout the game.”
