Do it all tight end Tyler Warren has found his home at the next level. The Penn State football star became the newest Colt after being selected by Indianapolis No. 14 overall during the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday.

Warren leaves Happy Valley as the most accomplished tight end in Penn State football history. He leads the Nittany Lions in total touchdowns (25), receiving touchdowns (19), receptions (153), receiving yards (1,839) and 100-yard games (5) among tight ends. The 2024 Mackey Award winner, Warren became the only Penn State pass catcher with over 100 receptions in a single season last fall.

Despite not participating in NFL Combine or Pro Day workouts, the Mechanicsville, Virginia, native solidified himself as one of the Draft’s top prospects with his on-field production.

“He checks every box — character, toughness, intelligence, and he’s just scratching the surface athletically,” one NFL executive said anonymously. “There’s not much to overthink.”

Warren is the second Nittany Lion to come off the board on the evening, preceded by Abdul Carter, who went third overall to the New York Giants. Carter and Warren become the first pair of Penn State football teammates to go in the top 15 picks of the NFL Draft since Jimmy Kennedy and Michael Haynes went No. 12 and No. 14, respectively, in 2003.
