Penn State football had three five-star recruits in its 2022 recruiting class. Now entering their final season in Happy Valley, the same trio of Nittany Lions is being recognized among the top players in the Big Ten entering the 2025 season.
On Tuesday, the Big Ten announced preseason honors for this fall, which included Nittany Lion stars Drew Allar, Nicholas Singleton, and Dani Dennis-Sutton.
Singleton and Dennis-Sutton represent their respective positions – running back and defensive end – for the conference on the list. Allar tied with Illinois quarterback Luke Altmyer.
Penn State and Ohio State were the only two programs with three honorees each. The Buckeyes’ Jeremiah Smith was the only unanimous selection on the list.
Tuesday’s news comes as the preseason praise continues to pour in for the Blue and White. Allar, Singleton, and Dennis-Sutton, along with Kaytron Allen and Zane Durant, received votes for the conference’s preseason player of the year on their respective sides of the football. Overall, Penn State was selected to finish first in the conference’s preseason poll.
Allar, Nick Dawkins, and Zakee Wheatley will join James Franklin at Big Ten Media Days on Wednesday.
