The race is heating up for All-Big Ten linebacker Mohamed Toure. Fresh off his visit with Penn State football, the former Rutgers standout is now expected to visit multiple programs this week.
First reported by InsideTheU’s (247Sports) Gaby Urrutia, Toure is in South Florida for a visit with Miami starting on Thursday. That report was later confirmed by Toure’s social media. The Hurricanes would be a logical landing spot for Toure as new defensive coordinator, Corey Hetherman, coached linebackers at Rutgers from 2022-23.
According to reports, the ex-Scarlet Knight could also visit Indiana and Florida State this weekend. However, those trips haven’t been made official as of Thursday evening.
Penn State was Toure’s first visit after entering the transfer portal last Friday. His younger brother, Vaboue, is a redshirt freshman safety with the Nittany Lions.
A two-time team captain at Rutgers, Toure is entering his seventh season after missing all of 2024 with an injury. The year prior, he recorded 93 tackles and led the Scarlet Knights with 9.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He is the second-ranked linebacker available in the transfer portal this spring per On3.
Toure is just one of the top transfer linebacker prospects that the Nittany Lions will host this week. Penn State is also expected to welcome former North Carolina Tar Heel Amare Campbell, the No. 1 available portal linebacker, to campus this weekend.
