Nothing is more special for a recruit than connecting with a famous letterman. But when that player also is from your area that makes the meeting even more special. Those are just some of the emotions going through the mind of 2026 recruiting class member and Penn State football commit Messiah Mickens after connecting with ex-Nittany Lion linebacker Micah Parsons.

On Monday, Messiah Mickens shared a special post on social media that had the Penn State football community smiling ear to ear. On his Twitter / X account, he shared a photo of himself and Micah Parsons with the caption of the lion emoji.

Why this photo is special is Mickens will play for Harrisburg High School this fall, the same high school that Parsons attended during his career. Mickens will walk through the same hallways in high school and college as he intends to play his college football with the Nittany Lions. Mickens is one of two current commits in the 2026 recruiting class.

Currently, Mickens is ranked as the No. 3 player in the Keystone State and the No. 8 running back in the country (No. 65 nationally) according to On3.

Micah Parsons has always been a strong ambassador for Penn State football. Most importantly, he serves as a person that prospects and recruits can look up to. One of those prospects that Parsons has given a shoutout to is the 2026 recruiting class member and IOL Kevin Brown.

Brown ranks as the No. 1 player in Pennsylvania according to On3. At the end of June, he attended the Rivals Camp Series in Jacksonville, Florida where he put on a clinic with his pass protection. This caught the eye of Micah Parsons.

“Harrisburg!!! Where the bullies get bullied!! #Weare?”
