Five-star McKeesport (PA) running back Kemon Spell doubled down on his commitment to Penn State football this spring. However, that won’t stop the top running back in the 2027 recruiting cycle from exploring what other schools have to offer this fall.
According to multiple reports on Monday evening, including from Blue White Illustrated’s (On3) Ryan Snyder, Spell has set up a series of gameday visits for the early part of the 2025 season. Those visits include a return trip to State College, where he will be in town for September 27’s primetime matchup against Oregon.
Two weeks before that White Out contest, Spell will travel to Notre Dame when the Fighting Irish host Texas A&M on September 13. He will also visit Florida State for its game against Miami on October 4 before taking in Alabama’s clash with Tennessee on October 18.
247Sports confirmed Spell’s visits for this fall as well.

The No. 8 prospect in the country per Rivals/On3, Spell will continue to be pursued heavily by the nation’s top programs until his signing day in December 2026. This spring, the WPIAL standout canceled a visit with ex-Nittany Lions assistant Ja’Juan Seider and the Irish after reaffirming his pledge to the Blue and White. However, he did take an unofficial visit to UCLA while on the West Coast for 7-on-7 tournaments in June.
Spell was the Nittany Lions’ first commitment in 2027, kicking off the class last August. With three early commitments from five-star-caliber prospects, Penn State holds the No. 2 class nationally for the cycle.
