The final official visit weekend is upon us for the 2025 recruiting class. Many prospects are starting to make their decision in real-time. The Penn State football team’s coaching staff has taken advantage of all official visits over the past few weeks. The Nittany Lions have secured three commitments in just two weeks. This weekend Penn State is hopeful that they can shift the momentum with top-100 prospect and IOL Max Buchanan, who has confirmed he was in route for his official visit to Happy Valley on Thursday.

Max Buchanan is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. According to On3, Buchanan is a top-100 prospect in his class, ranked 95th overall to be exact. The Sanford (Florida) native is listed as the No. 7 IOL and the No. 14 overall prospect in the Sunshine State.

This weekend, Penn State football has the chance to do the unthinkable. That would be to shift the momentum away from Flordia State, UCF, and Miami. The last time Buchanan visited Happy Valley was in October of 2022 according to the On3 Visit Center. But he confirmed on Twitter / X on Thursday evening that he was en route for his Penn State official visit.

Reviewing the 2025 recruiting class for Penn State football

The Nittany Lions have been stacking talent in the secondary over the past few weeks. The most recent commits include Antonio Branch, Jahmir Joseph, and Daryus Dixson all players that Terry Smith was able to impress during their official visits.

Penn State has increased the overall 2025 recruiting class rank with the recent additions. Going from No. 16 to No. 12 in the country according to On3. Top commits in the class include Daryus Dixson, Alvin Henderson, and Jahmir Joseph. James Franklin and his coaching staff will be in a battle to keep Alvin Henderson after Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong of On3 have logged a flip prediction of Henderson ending up at Auburn.
