The Penn State football team has struggled to recruit wide receivers in the 2025 recruiting class. Prospects that seemed to be trending in favor of the Nittany Lions ended up committing elsewhere. Penn State now has to reset and continue to push forward. They can do that by looking ahead at the top talent in the 2026 recruiting class. A recruiting expert has expressed that Dyzier Carter is very much interested in playing in Happy Valley.
The 2026 recruiting class is off to a hot start for Penn State football. The Nittany Lions have already landed two prospects who rank in the top 10 of their respective position. Those prospects include Messiah Mickens and Troy Huhn. But a recruit who could be joining them in the 2026 cycle is Dyzier Carter.
Carter is from Louisa (Virginia) and ranks as the No. 4 player in the state. He also ranks as the No. 13 wide receiver in the country (No. 96 nationally), according to On3. Carter has taken two visits to Happy Valley during his recruitment and On3 lists Penn State as the trending favorite for this prospect.
On Wednesday, the Director of Recruiting for On3, Chad Simmons, shared additional insight on Carter’s recruitment on Twitter / X.
“This 2026 4-star in this graphic recently told me Penn State is ‘high’ on his list.”

A position that Penn State football always recruits well is running back. Messiah Mickens has the 2026 recruiting class off to a strong start. However, the Nittany Lions are already on the radar of the No. 1 running back in the 2026 cycle.
Anna Adams of 247Sports confirmed that Savion Hiter is expected to list the Nittany Lions in his top 7 schools shortly. According to Rivals, Hiter ranks as the No. 1 running back in the 2026 recruiting class.
A fellow native of Virginia, it seems as if the Penn State football team is starting to turn up the heat on their recruiting efforts in the 2026 cycle.
