The Penn State football 2025 recruiting class is starting to come together. Now, the Nittany Lions have an opportunity to be selective when adding the final pieces to the puzzle. While Penn State has one safety commitment in the class in Braswell Thomas, another target is still in the mix. JaDon Blair a four-star talent who recently wrapped up an official visit in Happy Valley has now set his commitment date.

JaDon Blair is a top 100 prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. From Winston Salem (North Carolina), Blair ranks as the No. 8 safety and the No. 4 prospect in the state (No. 85 nationally) according to On3. He took official visits to Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Michigan, Flordia State, and Penn State. The Nittany Lions were fortunate as they ended up being his final visit on June 21.

After all of those visits, Blair is ready to make his decision and has set his commitment date. He will announce his commitment on Friday, July 5 at 3 pm. He will choose between Michigan, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Flordia State, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Louisville. Currently, On3 has the Fighting Irish as the favorite to land the four-star talent with an 82% chance according to the Recruiting Prediction Machine.

On June 23, the Nittany Lions secured its first safety commitment in the 2025 recruiting class. Braswell Thomas made his commitment official last Sunday.

Braswell Thomas is a three-star prospect from Cape May (New Jersey). He made his decision just days after his official visit that started on June 21, the same weekend that Blair was in Happy Valley.

According to On3, Thomas ranks as the No. 25 prospect in New Jersey and the No. 60 safety in the 2025 cycle. With experience at wide receiver and safety, there’s a good chance Thomas will increase his ranking naturally by putting more on film this fall.
