Top 2026 quarterback and Penn State football commit Troy Huhn is expected to make the cross-country trek next week to visit with James Franklin and the Nittany Lions for the annual Lasch Bash. The trip marks the first time that the Mission Hills, California, prospect will return to State College since pledging to Penn State in June.
Huhn has not publicly confirmed the news on his social media pages, but his visit has been reported by Rivals, among other recruiting outlets. The Lasch Bash is one of the biggest recruiting events of the year for James Franklin and the Nittany Lions, with nearly four dozen prospects already expected on either Saturday or Sunday.
“Coach Franklin did a great job, and so did the whole entire staff,” Huhn said of his June 19 visit to Happy Valley, which preceded his commitment announcement the following week. “I felt very welcome when I was there. It felt like home walking in that office. I felt really supported; they all loved me, and I really appreciate the love they showed me. I felt like a priority when I was there, and that means a lot to me.”

A splash addition for Penn State football at the end of last month, Troy Huhn is the No. 6 quarterback and the No. 60 overall prospect in the 2026 recruiting cycle per On3.
As a sophomore, Huhn led Mission Hills to a 9-4 record, completing 133 of 223 passes for 1,623 yards, 16 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also added three rushing touchdowns on 12 carries.
Troy Huhn is one of two commitments for James Franklin and Penn State football in the 2026 recruiting cycle, Harrisburg running back Messiah Mickens being the other.
The Nittany Lions currently hold the No. 7 ranking in 247Sports’ 2026 team rankings and are second in the Big Ten only to USC. On3 does not do national rankings at this early stage in the cycle, but the outlet gives Penn State a class score of 92.2.
