After just one season with Penn State football, placekicker Chase Meyer is re-entering the transfer portal. On Thursday, the Nittany Lions specialist announced his plans to move on from Happy Valley after graduating later this year.
“Forever grateful to Coach Franklin and the staff for the opportunities I have had here at Penn State,” Meyer wrote on X. “Happy Valley will always be special to me and a second home. However, I will be graduating this summer and will be entering the transfer portal as a grad transfer with two years [of eligibility remaining].”
Meyer did not appear for the Nittany Lions last fall after transferring in from Tulsa in December 2023. He went 17-20 on field goals and 30-31 on PATs for the Golden Hurricanes in 2023, earning third-team All-AAC honors. Previously, Meyer kicked for Penn, where he primarily covered kickoffs.
In 2024, the Nittany Lions solidified placekicking duties under Ryan Barker, who had the third-best single-season field goal percentage in Penn State football history at 83.3.
