Penn State football fans are in for a treat in 2025. That’s when the son of LBU great LaVar Arrington, LaVar Arrington II will suit up for the Nittany Lions. As he continues to play out his senior season the national recruits are taking notice. Now, the 2025 recruiting class commit for Penn State has seen a significant increase in his recruiting ranking.

LaVar Arrington II made his commitment official to Penn State football on July 4. Since then, he has had his head down working on developing before he enrolls in Happy Valley. But his development has paid off in the eyes of national scouts.

On Wednesday, 247Sports provided an update to Arrington II’s recruiting ranking. He went from a 90 overall prospect to a 93 overall prospect. He also saw a massive national recruiting boost jumping from 249 overall to 127 overall. Arrington II now ranks as the No. 11 prospect in California and the No. 9 linebacker in the 2025 recruiting class.
