Beau Pribula is gearing up for his first season as a Missouri Tiger after leaving the Penn State football program last December. In Columbia, Pribula will be the primary option under center after spending his time with the Nittany Lions as a complementary piece to starter Drew Allar.
Recently, Athlon Sports published the results of its anonymous surveys with coaches from each power conference, including the SEC. Coaches in the league are beginning to size up Pribula with less than 100 days to the start of the college football season.
“Pribula is a big, raw talent that could really thrive in Eli’s [Drinkwitz] offense,” one coach said. “He needs to become more of a confident passer and rely less on his feet. He’s such a physical runner; you wonder how often he can do that in this league and stay healthy.”
Pribula threw for 424 yards and nine touchdowns while rushing for 571 yards and 10 scores during his Penn State football career. Taking over a program that has won double-digit games in each of the last two seasons, Pribula will play a critical role in further elevating Missouri’s national profile in 2025.
“Beau Pribula has been a phenomenal teammate, has been a big reason why we are where we are right now,” James Franklin said following Pribula’s departure in December. “Parents, awesome. High school coach, awesome.
“Being a backup quarterback is not an easy thing to do, and he never approached it that way. Had so much confidence on our team, based on how he went about his business and prepared like a starter, again, which is something we talk about all the time, but is easier said than done.”
