It has been quite a year for Saquon Barkley. The Penn State football legend and Philadelphia Eagles superstar has added another feat to his list of accomplishments, meeting with President Donald Trump over the weekend.
On Sunday, pictures surfaced on social media of Barkley with the president at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Barkley returned to Washington with Trump ahead of the Super Bowl champion Eagles’ White House visit on Monday.
“What a nice guy he is,” Trump said of the ex-Nittany Lion. “I wanted to race him, but I decided not to do it.”
Sunday was the second time this month that Barkley has been seen with members of the Trump family. The former Penn State football star attended the JP Morgan Tech 100 Summit earlier in April, where he was photographed with the president’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, and his grandson.
Barkley is fresh off a historic 2024, setting a single-season NFL rushing record with 2,504 yards en route to his first Super Bowl. He also earned NFL Offensive Player of the Year honors.
In March, the Penn State football letterman signed a two-year, $41.2 million contract extension with the Eagles, making him the highest-paid running back in NFL history.
