James Franklin and Penn State football are now expected to miss on one of their top remaining in-state targets in the 2025 recruiting cycle. Coming off the final official visit weekend before the summer dead period, multiple recruiting insiders now predict that Southern Lehigh tight end Andrew Olesh will commit to Michigan over the Nittany Lions.

The predictions came Sunday morning following Olesh’s official visit to Ann Arbor. It was only his second time on campus, but evidently, two trips were all that was needed for the top tight end in the Keystone State to make his decision.

From On3, VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong and Michigan insider EJ Holland both placed 60% confidence in their predictions. Meanwhile, 247Sports National Recruiting Analyst Tom Loy and Wolverines beat reporter Steve Lorenz both expressed medium confidence.

Andrew Olesh is a top 100 prospect in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to both 247Sports and On3. A four-star recruit, Olesh is a top-five player at his position and in Pennsylvania for the class in both outlets’ rankings.

Penn State football lands multiple 2025 recruits in 12 hours

While the expectation of missing out on Andrew Olesh represents the gut-punch side of recruiting, Penn State football has also experienced euphoria on the trail this weekend as well.

After a successful last weekend of official visits, James Franklin and the Nittany Lions secured two commitments in a 12-hour span.

On Saturday evening, Imhotep running back Jabree Wallace-Coleman pledged to Penn State football. A former Georgia commit, Wallace-Coleman is the top running back in Pennsylvania in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He replaces Alvin Henderson, who flipped to Auburn on Friday.

Then on Sunday morning, the Nittany Lions added their fourth defensive back commitment of the month in four-star Braswell Thomas. The Pleasantville prospect, who also plays wide receiver, is the No. 25 player in New Jersey per On3’s Industry Rankings.

Penn State football currently has the No. 15 recruiting class in the country, according to On3, while 247Sports ranks the Nittany Lions at No. 11 nationally.
