Even more changes could soon be coming to the iconic home of Penn State football.
On Saturday morning, Greg Pickel of Blue-White Illustrated reported that the Penn State Board of Trustees will consider recommendations regarding the future naming rights for Beaver Stadium on Monday.
The Board of Trustees Finance and Investment Committee is scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday morning to discuss a “proposed recommendation from the Facilities and Academic Unit Naming Committee.”
Reports of the potential naming deal come as work on the $700 million Beaver Stadium revitalization project began this winter. Construction crews are currently working on the stadium’s West side, where the press box was demolished in early January.
The renovation project’s current timeline has work is being completed before the 2027 season. The university has stated that the stadium will maintain a capacity of over 100,000 fans throughout the 2025 and 2026 Penn State football seasons.
“Really happy about where it’s going. You know, I think, I really believe it’s going to be something fans are going to be proud of,” Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft said in February. “We’re trying to make it so that it’s as loud as humanly possible and continue to keep this as the greatest home-field advantage in all of sports.
“We’ll continue to give you all updates. I’ve learned don’t give an update unless it’s exactly what it’s going to be. So, you’ll start seeing more and more information come out on that over time as we start to really put this together.
“But I’m really, really happy with where we are from a philanthropic, suite sales perspective, and all that stuff will start coming through the year.”
