The Penn State football team continues to push for the top talent in the 2025 recruiting class. An area of need continues to be at the wide receiver position as you can never have enough playmakers on your roster. Marques Hagans and James Franklin have taken notice of that and have locked in an upcoming visit with Kaliq Lockett. Now, the Nittany Lions have a chance to make a huge impression on one of the nation’s most talented players.
Penn State football locks in visit with top 10 WR in 2025 cycle
Kaliq Lockett is a four-star recruit according to On3 and 247Sports. The Sachse, TX native is currently ranked as the No. 6 WR in the 2025 recruiting class according to 247Sports and the No. 7 WR according to On3.
He is also ranked within the top 10 players in Texas in the 2025 cycle. Now, according to National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman of On3 Lockett will visit the Penn State football team on March 14th. No player makes or breaks a recruiting class but it would be a relief for the Nittany Lions to secure one of the top playmakers in the class to know that the future is bright in Happy Valley.
Could Omari Evans seal the deal?
Penn State wide receiver Omari Evans has taken his talents from Texas to Penn State. The junior wide receiver hails from Killeen, Texas, and played his high school football at Shoemaker. It’s possible that some words of encouragement from the current Nittany Lion could help Lockett feel more comfortable so far away from home.
Evans is looking to have a breakout year in 2024. Last season he secured 4 catches for 94 yards and 1 touchdown.
