The good news keeps pouring in for Penn State football to kick off the week. James Franklin has now landed his second commitment in as many days. On Tuesday afternoon, elite 2025 offensive lineman Malachi Goodman made his pledge to the Nittany Lions.

Hayes Fawcett of On3 was the first to break the news. Already standing 6-5, 315 pounds, Goodman chose Penn State over Auburn and USC.

Malachi Goodman is the No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the country in the 2025 recruiting cycle, according to the 247Sports Composite. Rated as the No. 146 prospect overall, the Paramus native is the third-ranked prospect in New Jersey.

A younger member of the 2025 recruiting cycle, Malachi Goodman will still be 17 years old when he becomes a Nittany Lion.

“A mauling presence who operates at offensive tackle on Fridays, but will likely slide inside at the next level,” writes 247Sports national analyst Hudson Standish. “The highest-rated recruit from New Jersey’s Paramus Catholic since the school produced top-100 recruits Jabrill Peppers, Rashan Gary, and Drew Singleton in the 2010s.”

Goodman is the second of two major wins in the 2025 recruiting cycle for James Franklin this week. On Monday, Penn State football flipped wide receiver Matthew Outten from Brent Pry and Virginia Tech.

Before Goodman’s commitment, the Nittany Lions had the No. 14 class in the 2025 cycle, per 247Sports.
