In recent days, Penn State football has missed on several top targets in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Despite the slump, the Nittany Lions’ 20-commit class is still pushing to be among the nation’s best when all is said and done.

Leading the way for the Nittany Lions in 2026 is Harrisburg (PA) offensive lineman Kevin Brown. The program’s top-ranked commitment and one of the top offensive linemen in the cycle, Brown is making a case to earn his fifth star at the Rivals Five-Star camp in Indianapolis this week.

“At last year’s Rivals Five-Star in Jacksonville, Brown was one of the best offensive linemen as an underclassman. The Penn State commit is back again this year and looks as impressive as ever, wrote Rivals Rankings Director Adam Friedman, who named Brown to the camp’s All-Lobby Team on Monday.Brown’s physical measurements are very solid and his frame is packed with muscle mass. He appears to already have the strength in his lower half to be able to match up with college defensive linemen.”

On Tuesday, Brown quickly proved his physical measurements do more than pass the eye test, easily benching 225 pounds for 25 reps. The performance would have tied the high school senior for 10th-best among offensive linemen at the 2025 NFL Combine.

Brown set a Harrisburg High School record by squatting 610 pounds in March.

Brown is currently the nation’s No. 53 overall prospect and third-best interior offensive lineman per the On3 Industry Rankings. Committing to Penn State last July, Brown has remained among the 2026 cycle’s best prospects despite missing the majority of his junior season with a foot injury.

With the benefit of this week’s outing and an entire season on the high school gridiron remaining, Brown is certainly poised to be among the country’s top 32 prospects by the time he signs with the Nittany Lions this winter.
