Although National Signing Day is five months in the rearview, Penn State football just added a new commitment to its class of 2025 — in a manner of speaking. On Friday night, Nittany Lions 2026 pledge Daniel Jennings announced that he is reclassifying and enrolling with the program this summer.

“I have enrolled in homeschool and will be graduating this year and signing with Penn State’s 25’ class here in a few weeks, the Princeton (WV) edge rusher told On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “Everything has went through compliance. I just have one class and exam I have to finish.

A four-star, Jennings was the top recruit in West Virginia and the No. 23 edge rusher in 2026. Committing to James Franklin and the Nittany Lions last July, Jennings now joins early enrollees Yvan Kemajou and Dayshaun Burnett and signees Chaz Coleman and Cortez Harris as the program’s new additions at the position in the 2025 cycle.

“I’ve put on 20 pounds of muscle this off-season and have been able to maintain my speed, he said. I feel that I accomplished everything I needed to at the high school level and I’m ready to start working towards my degree and to increase my draft stock.

Jennings follows in the footsteps of defensive end Max Granville, who reclassified to the class of 2024 and joined Penn State last July. Granville appeared in seven games for the Nittany Lions in his redshirt freshman season.

Prior to the announcement, Penn State football had the 14th-ranked signing class in 2025.
