When Penn State football travels to the Horseshoe on November 1, the matchup has the potential to be among the most pivotal games of the entire college football season. Three months away from that Week 10 contest, the Nittany Lions are already receiving the big game treatment from the hosting Ohio State Buckeyes.
On Tuesday morning, Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork revealed that the Buckeyes will promote an all-stadium Black Out for November’s matchup with Penn State. The announcement was part of a broader reimagining of the gameday experience at Ohio Stadium ahead of the 2025 season.

While few other details about the game currently exist, it’s widely expected that the matchup will be featured on FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff that week. With the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions ranked No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in Monday’s Coaches Poll, the contest has all the potential to be a top-five matchup come that point in the year.
Last November, the Buckeyes bested the Nittany Lions 20-13 in a battle between No. 3 and No. 4 inside Beaver Stadium. The defeat continued Penn State’s eight-game losing streak to Ohio State since the Blue and White last took down the Scarlet and Gray in 2016.
