The Penn State football team is swinging for the fences in the 2026 recruiting class. The Nittany Lions have targeted each of the top two quarterback prospects in the 2026 cycle. So far in the recruiting efforts Dia Bell has felt like the target that Penn State has been the closest with. That’s because Bell has been to Happy Valley more than other programs. But this month he will explore other options. Reports state that he will visit LSU, Florida State, and Ohio State in June.

Dia Bell is one of the top prospects in the 2026 cycle. The 6-3 quarterback happens to be the son of an NBA veteran, Raja Bell. During his recruitment thus far, Bell has visited the Penn State football team four times which ranks as the most among all interested colleges.

Bell is a four-star prospect who is the No. 1 player in Florida and the No. 2 quarterback in the 2026 recruiting class. He also ranks as the No. 12 prospect in the country according to On3. Now, Steve Wiltfong of On3 has reported that Bell will explore other programs in June. He has plans to visit Flordia State, Ohio State, and LSU. Currently, Penn State leads the way for Bell with a 21% chance of landing his commitment according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. Ohio State has a 14% chance and LSU sits at 6.9% of earning Bell’s pledge.

Bell believes he is a ‘good fit’ at Penn State

While Dia Bell is off to visit other programs, the Nittany Lions are in great shape for one of the top prospects in the 2026 cycle. He recently spoke to Steve Wiltfong of On3 and shared why he believes he could be a ‘good fit’ in Happy Valley.

Penn State is an excellent program with an incredible history. Beaver Stadium is one of the best atmospheres in college football and they have an incredible fan base! I am very excited about their new offense! I’ve been able to develop a great relationship with Coach Franklin, Coach Kotelnicki, and Coach O’Brien. I think that I’d be a good fit in what they do offensively because I can play on time and on schedule, but I can create when I need to as well.”
