Penn State football has bounced back on the recruiting trail in the 2025 recruiting class. A cycle that once looked dim quickly turned around over the past few months. The icing on the cake would’ve been landing five-star wide receiver Jerome Myles, but unfortunately, the Nittany Lions won’t get that opportunity after his final three schools were announced on Wednesday.

Jerome Myles announced his final ten schools on August 6, and he included the Penn State football team in that list. While the West Jordan (Utah) native never made the trip across the country to visit Happy Valley he was considering the Nittany Lions.

Myles is regarded as the No. 1 player in Utah and the No. 5 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class, according to 247Sports. On Wednesday, Hayes Fawcett of On3 announced on Twitter /X that Myles will make his commitment official on September 18. He will choose between USC, Utah, and Texas A&M

Insiders believe he will end up at USC

The first sign that Penn State would be out of the hunt for Myles appeared a few weeks ago. On August 19, Steve Wiltfong of On3 released an RPM prediction that slated Myles to stay in his home state play for the Utah Utes.

Although his commitment will come roughly a month after the prediction, Myles did list Utah in his final three schools. However, since that original prediction, the RPMs have changed direction. Now, On3 insiders believe that Myles will end up committing to USC.

Myles now holds three RPM predictions from Max Torres, Scott Schrader, and even Steve Wiltfong now predicts that the Trojans are in the lead for the five-star talent. So, not only will the Nittany Lions miss on Myles, but all signs point that they will have to play against him in the future as well.
