The torch has been passed down for generations for the Penn State football player who will wear the historic number 11 on defense. All-time greats such as LaVar Arrington, Brandon Bell, and Micah Parsons have represented the Nittany Lions by wearing the prestigious jersey. Fast forward to today, and Abdul Carter carries that honor on the field.
Much like his predecessor, Abdul Carter is undergoing a transition from linebacker to defensive end this offseason. It’s a move that Micah Parsons knows well, playing 88% of his regular season snaps from the position for the Dallas Cowboys last year.
It appears that the Nittany Lions’ newest edge rusher is learning a thing or two from the NFL All-Pro. A recent video from SFDigitals on Twitter / X showed a workout where Carter and Parsons were going through the skills of the trade.
Abdul Carter has paid homage to Micah Parsons on the field in past seasons, recreating his famous celebrations and representing the Blue and White as well as possible. But the mutual respect between the two Pennsylvania natives continues to grow as Carter evolves in his Penn State football career.
Abdul Carter enters his junior year at Penn State this fall. In two seasons he has accounted for 105 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks. PFF College recently suggested that Carter could have a “Micah Parsons-type season” this fall.

While the Nittany Lions have heated up on the recruiting trail as of late. One prospect they do not want to slip away is Kevin Brown in the 2026 recruiting class. Brown serves as the No. 1 player in the Keystone State and the No. 3 IOL in 2026.
He recently showed his technique at a Rivals Camp Series in Jacksonville where Parsons took note of Brown’s performance.
“Harrisburg!!! Where the bullies get bullied!! #Weare?” Parsons wrote on Twitter / X. The acknowledgment and the ambassador of Penn State football continues to show for the former Nittany Lion linebacker.
