The ink is now largely set and dry for Penn State football on its 2025 recruiting class after the Nittany Lions signed 27 commits on Early National Signing Day in December. On Wednesday, we learned where those newest Nittany Lions ended up in the 247Sports’ final rankings for the class, headlined by one prospect who now holds five-star status.

Paramus (NJ) offensive lineman Malachi Goodman earned his fifth and final star in the last iteration of 247Sports’ 2025 rankings, becoming a top 20 prospect nationally. Goodman ascends to the top of the class rankings after an impressive showing at the Navy All-American Bowl earlier in January.

The 6-5, 320-pound lineman jumped over 65 spots since the last ranking update in October, climbing from the No. 86 overall recruit nationally to No. 19. The freshly minted five-star is now the No. 5 offensive tackle in the class and the top player out of New Jersey.

Goodman is not just the highest-ranked player in the 2025 class for Penn State football; he is also one of the youngest. The offensive lineman will still be 17 when he officially joins the Nittany Lions.

Goodman committed to Penn State football in September, picking the Nittany Lions over Auburn and USC.

Despite all the rankings movement on Wednesday, Penn State football still holds the No. 15 class nationally in the 247Sports Composite for the cycle.
