Coming off a massive recruiting weekend in Happy Valley, Penn State football is gearing up to impress one of the nation’s top prospects next week. On Friday, five-star Georgetown Prep (MD) offensive lineman Immanuel Iheanacho will be in town to begin his official visit with James Franklin, Phil Trautwein, and the Nittany Lions staff.
As Iheanacho prepares to arrive in State College, we’re getting a better sense of where the Nittany Lions stand in his recruitment. Last Friday, Iheanacho revealed his four finalists, which include Penn State, Auburn, LSU, and Oregon.
A consensus five-star prospect, Iheanacho is heralded as one of the top players in the 2026 recruiting cycle. The On3 Industry Rankings currently rate the Baltimore product as the No. 3 recruit in the country and the No. 2 offensive lineman in the class.
Next weekend will be Iheanacho’s fourth visit to Happy Valley but his first since Penn State’s September 28 win over Illinois. He’s already traveled to LSU and Auburn this summer, with a trip to Oregon following his stay with the Nittany Lions.
While earning Iheanacho’s pledge would be a massive recruiting win for James Franklin, he and his staff will have an uphill battle to earn the five-star’s commitment. Oregon is currently viewed as the runaway leader for his decision, with predictions for the Ducks logged by On3 and 247Sports insiders.
Iheanacho will announce his commitment on August 5.
