The Penn State football coaching staff is staying busy this summer. Not only are the Nittany Lions deep into official visit season, but they also continue to host camps and prospects. The quarterback position is always a high priority in every cycle. While Penn State has targets in 2025 and 2026, a new prospect has emerged from the 2027 recruiting class. Brady Edmunds has announced that he is on campus Saturday and Sunday on an unofficial visit to Penn State.

Brady Edmunds is a 6-5 200-pound quarterback prospect in the 2027 recruiting class. While the National Scouts have not released rankings for the 2027 cycle yet, it’s clear that Edmunds will be one of the top quarterbacks in his class. According to On3 he currently has 23 scholarship offers as he enters his sophomore season of high school this fall.

Edmunds is from Huntington Beach, California a state that typically produces some of the best quarterbacks around the country. On Saturday morning, he announced that he was in Happy Valley today and tomorrow on an unofficial visit. Brady Edmunds currently does not hold an offer from the Penn State football team, but that could change for the 2027 recruiting class member by the time he leaves on Sunday.

Working to hold current commits

In today’s era of college football the battle of recruiting is even more challenging than it used to be. With NIL playing a major factor, each prospect has to consider how much playing time they will get to grow their name, image, and likeness.

In the 2025 recruiting class, the Nittany Lions have a load of running back prospects that all bring a different skillset to the table. Currently, Penn State holds three running back commits in the 2025 cycle. Kiandrea Barker a three-star prospect was the first running back to make his pledge. Amidst reports that was potentially considering staying home and playing for Arkansas, Barker made a statement on Thursday that he was shutting down his recruitment and will stay committed to Penn State.

Tiqwai Hayes from Aliquippa, PA was the next 2025 prospect to make his pledge to Penn State. However, according to Rivals, he is currently on an official visit to Stanford this weekend. It will be interesting to watch his decision-making from that visit.

Finally, one of the latest members to join the Nittany Lions recruiting class was running back Alvin Henderson. A four-star prospect from Elba, AL. On May 22, Adam Gorney of Rivals reported that Penn State will be battling Auburn for Henderson. That came after a quote from Henderson surfaced about what Auburn was willing to do to gain a commitment from the top-10 running back.

Henderson said, “They’re willing to do whatever they have to do” he was speaking about Aubrun and Hugh Freeze and the lengths they’re willing to go to flip Henderson from Penn State. While the Nittany Lions have three running back commits in the 2025 cycle, will they keep all three is the biggest question that remains.
