Penn State football has turned into a pipeline of talent at tight end as of late. The Nittany Lions are on the verge of cashing in on their success once again, making the top-five list for blue chip Dunlap (IL) recruit Mack Sutter on Saturday afternoon.

Sutter has also set official visits with each of his top schools, he tells Hayes Fawcett and On3. He’ll start the spring with a visit to in-state Illinois on April 11, followed by trips to Ole Miss on April 25 and Ohio State on May 30. Penn State will be his penultimate visit on June 6, closing the summer window with a trip to Alabama on June 20.

Sutter is a top-10 tight end prospect in both the On3 Industry Rankings and the 247Sports Composite. Internal rankings from 247Sports have the 6-6, 225-pound pass catcher as the No. 94 player in the 2026 recruiting cycle.

Tyler Warren helped spotlight the Nittany Lions’ tight end unit in 2024, but Penn State football has been building one of the deepest tight end rooms in the country for some time.

While Penn State has landed a blue chip tight end in each of the last eight recruiting cycles, the Nittany Lions have kicked it into another gear in recent years. The Nittany Lions have two former five-star prospects currently on the roster in Luke Reynolds (2024) and Andrew Olesh (2025), while Andrew Rappleyea was a top-50 recruit in the 2023 cycle.
