James Franklin and Penn State football are looking to carry the momentum from a solid start on the recruiting trail for the 2026 cycle into the spring and summer months. The program took another step in that direction on Thursday, with five-star cornerback/wide receiver Brandon Arrington announcing his plans to visit Happy Valley.

Arrington will make the cross-country trip from California for an official visit on the weekend of May 2. The trip is the first of four official visits the Mount Miguel prospect has scheduled. He also has visits to Texas A&M (June 5), Oregon (June 13), and USC (June 17) already on the books.

A two-sport athlete, Arrington is touted as one of the fastest sprinters in the country. His 60-meter dash time of 6.67 seconds is third best among high school sprinters.

On the gridiron, Arrington is the nation’s top cornerback in the On3 Industry Rankings and the No. 1 athlete in the 2026 recruiting cycle via the 247Sports Composite. Both recruiting services rank him as a top-15 prospect regardless of position.

Penn State football currently holds commitments from three-star Winslow Township (NJ) cornerback Julian Peterson as well as four-star Fort Cherry (PA) safety Matt Sieg. The Nittany Lions’ 2026 class is ranked No. 5 nationally, according to 247Sports.
