The 2024 Olympics have wrapped up in Paris and have captured the eye of several athletes who did not participate. One of those athletes is former Penn State football linebacker Micah Parsons. He is known as one of the top defenders in the NFL. However, on Sunday the former Nittany Lion teased that he would be willing to take a break from football to train for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Micah Parsons enters his fourth season in the NFL in 2024. The Dallas Cowboys star is known for his versatility on the field. Football isn’t the only sport we have seen the former Penn State football star participate in this offseason. He took time to make an attempt at Sumo Wrestling in Japan and dominated on the court in his NBA All-Star Celebrity Game this past season.

On Sunday, Parsons shared on Twitter / X that he is willing to “take a break from football” following the 2027 season to prepare for the Olympics. He has not confirmed if this is truly his plan but has created buzz around his name as we head into the 2024 season.

What sport would Parsons participate in during the Olympics?

If the former 2021 NFL Draft first-round pick was serious about taking his chances in the 2028 Olympics, what sport would take part in?

The ex-Nittany Lion took to Twitter / X to see what his fans thought about the matter. He tweeted. “I need to find a way to get in the Olympics by 2028! What events yall think I can do?? Need ideas!!”

There will be flag football in the 2028 Olympics. Parsons can showcase his ability to cover and pursue ball carriers if he were to participate in that event. Or he could return to his high school running-back days where he was extremely dominant. Either way, it’s too early to tell if he will seriously step away from football to train for an Olympic event or remain on the gridiron.
