Penn State football held a commitment from Jerquaden Guilford for roughly two months this winter. Now, the Northrop (IN) wide receiver is ready to come off the board once again, and will most likely end up back in Big Ten country.
On Friday, Guilford announced his four finalists to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Three of the Nittany Lions’ conference opponents – Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio State – all made the cut. Ole Miss is also still in the running.
Guilford will announce his commitment on June 27.
“I want to take the time to thoroughly evaluate my options and ensure that the school I choose aligns with the values my family and I hold,” Guilford said when announcing his decommitment from Penn State in February. “With the new landscape of college recruiting, I want to make a decision that is as close to perfect as possible for my future.”
Guilford originally committed to the Nittany Lions in December, fresh off his trip to Happy Valley for the regular-season finale against Maryland. A three-star, he is the No. 69 receiver in the class, according to 247Sports. The Fort Wayne product visited Michigan earlier this month and will travel to Columbus next weekend.
Since Guilford’s decommitment, Penn State added a pledge from four-star receiver Davion Brown. The Nittany Lions also hold commitments from four-star Jahsiear Rogers and three-star Lavar Keys.
